Learning to Embroider on CQ from Kathy Shaw

I am learning the embroidery stitches from Kathy Shawls 12 dozen stitches in 12 months. They are all so pretty. This one is also pieced on the fabric softner sheets.

Here is my latest practice CQ Block. I have used, as a backer, a used dryer sheet. Makes it really easy to handle and a nice finished size for practicing on. By taking a picture I can see things that need to be improved. I have unstitched a lot and looks like with some more practice I can actually get to really enjoy doing this. Very addictive!! Thanks to everyone posting their pictures to give me ideas on stitches to use. Now on to the next one.

Here it is!!! Looks just like Laurie's, don't you think. NOT! I am so impressed with her work.
I am looking for constructive criticisms.
I am trying to find a small airplane button or pin to put on the upper left piece either above or below the rainbow.
Please tell me your opinions. This has been fun. Not sure I am finished. I changed the spider, the previous one looked like an overgrown ant. and took off one of the edging of hen and chicks just did not feel right.
Any other suggestions?
Thank you all for your suggestions and help so far.
